Rooms on Fire

As always I can find at least one Stevie Nicks or Fleetwood Mac song to fit the odd situations that I always seem to fall into, but this time I hit the jackpot and have 3 songs.
“Rooms on Fire” By Stevie Nicks and Rick Nowels
“Well maybe I'm just thinking that the rooms are all on fire”
“Long nets of white cloud my memory…”
“Fire Burning” By Stevie Nicks, Mike Campbell, and Rupert Hine
“Burning...A huge fire was burning
And her eyes grew strangely bright
She turned around in her room...
What could she take and still survive the fire?”
“Angel” and “Sweet Girl” By Stevie Nicks

A Fight for My Life

"Crying in the morning...trying to be strong..."
These very words writen by Ms. Stevie Nicks really explain my last week, and I had ro continously sing, "Enchanted...well...I hope you make it," to myself in order to stay calm.

Landslide

Who knew that a song written nearly 12 years before I was born could not only describe my life, but help me cope?
After surviving 15 years of child abuse and completing a book to help others, I was once again thrown into the past as my mother's protector.
On Saturday, my mother decided to end her life by ingesting over 128 different medications. She fell in seizers and hit her head and eventually fell into a coma. As the ambulance carried my mother’s unconscious body to the hospital, I had to turn to my counselor for strength: MUSIC.

Looking A Little Deeper

Have you ever taken the time to look deeper into the many layers of a Fleetwood Mac or Stevie Nicks solo song?
Well, I have, because my eyes, my ears, and my heart know no other way of looking at the world. Thankfully, this philosophy seems to be one shared by Ms. Nicks, because her songs are always dripping with such passionate references to the often overlooked, yet absolutely astounding parts of this journey that we refer to as life.
