Sheffield 2nd November - WOW
Well its been how many years since Fleetwood Mac brought us Rumours. Thats where i came in...a spotty 17 year old in 1977 with a hankering for motorbikes.
What with 20 years spent in the Armed Forces, i was always in the wrong place at the right time to catch previous tours. What with the passage of time and settling down to family life, we heard the news (thanks Karen) that Fleetwood Mac where playing a gig at Sheffield Arena...well thats where 30 odd years of waiting came to an end.
What a fantastic gig and well worth the wait in years. I have to say that is the best gig i have EVER been too. It helped that i got to the front during the first song and luckily i had a camera with me (never without one). Thats one happy bunch of people with some special memories (me, Heather, Karen and John).
Stevie, Mick, Lindsey and John thank you sooooo much for coming back to the UK and to Sheffield in particular......please, please, please come back again ...we all love you and your music
Mark
What about the tours date 2010 ??
Please let me know were start the new tours in USA . I live in Mexico , but I want to go to enjoy Fleetwood Mac. Its my dream !!!
Re I'm so Afraid
That's great! There's a fantastic version on the Dance cd/dvd, beautifully emotive song. Well I'm a self confessed hopeless guitarist and I'm always inspired by his playing to just keep trying. I'd hoped that by holding his hand and strumming his g, d and a strings that a miracle would occur and I'd actually be able to play, alas no. Must be immensely rewarding for you as a pro, and a bed of creativity. Take care, Pj
Thanks for the help, just
Thanks for the help, just found that the song was called 'I'm So Afraid.' It was incredible. I'm a professional guitarist and Lindsay Buckingham's playing on that song moved me in a way that i've never felt before. Stand Back was also brilliant.
oh no i missed it:(
oh no i missed it:(
Re Uk Tour (hairyjon)
Hi hairyjon!
No problem. I didn't go to the Wembley gig, I went to Manchester with my newly converted Fleetwood Mac fan Mum and we had a really special time together there (she heard landslide and said she could have sung that to me when I left the nest-aww), and the Nia show which will stay with me always. I guess you were watching 'Don't Stop'? Lindsey hinted that they may be working on new material, so let's hope another tour may accompany it. They've certainly proved they can still pull a full house. So by signing up on here you might be early for that, and beat your 'too late' life story on the head!

Re: Sheffield Arena (martinjamesgregory)
Hi. You might be thinking of 'Stand Back', which is a solo song by Stevie from the Wild Heart album in 1883. Nothing to feel embarassed about, it's great that you enjoyed hearing something you hadn't before, probably more of a treat! If not, google Fleetwood Mac Unleashed Set List, and you'll probably find it that way. :-)
Sheffield Arena
Saw Fleetwood Mac on the 2nd of November and i don't think i've ever been to a better gig in my life.
Embarrassingly, i've never heard the song that was the highlight of the night. It featured an extended guitar solo and came not long before "Go Your Own Way."
If anyone who was there can tell me the name of the song i'd be eternally grateful
Uk tour
Hi Blazing Sunset.
Thanks for the info. Story of my life... too late for everything!!!!
I did not know it was happening except for a couple of items on Radio 2. I have just been watching a prog on BBC 4 about Fleetwood Mac. The last concert I went to was the Tango in the Night at Wembly in 1987. WOW that was good. Did you go to last night's?
Re: Uk tour
Hi,
You'll find a list of all the UK dates here:
http://www.fleetwoodmac-uk.com/concerts/unleashed-tour.html
The last show was last night (Fri 6th) in Wembley.
Hope this is ok.
UK tour
Hi Everyone.
Newbie Hairyjon in the UK here! I hope you are all ok.
Why can't I find any dates for the UK tour?....Or am I thick?
Birmingham Nia November 3rd 2009 and MEN October 27th
I saw the Manchester show from the front side block, with my Mum. It was her first Fleetwood Mac gig and we both had the best time. From those seats we could see the entire set clearly, and it was intense. Mum now loves Mick!
I was lucky to get front row seats for the Nia show. It was a totally different experience as we were able to stand at the stage. I was below Lindsey's left while my friend tried desperately to get to me when the Nia attendants shut the car parks. I've a severe back injury and I was propped up with my walking stick and I didn't care how much it hurt! I'd like to say to the women who were around me thank you so very much, because they mirrored Mick's beautiful words by taking care of me until my friend arrived even though they didn't know me. If you guys read this, you helped make this a very special night for me, marred only by the guy who swept me to one side to scream "JOHN!!", at Mick, and shouted for Stevie to pose while Mick was talking to the audience at the end. Stevie was ushering this guy to shush and listen to Mick. As long as you got your winning photo fella....
My friend guided Lindseys hand to mine while he shook hands, and I got to strumm his guitar during Go your own way. What a fantastic treat, and a lovely gesture that this man should allow us to share his personal space. He was incredible all night, a powerhouse. Stevie looked absolutely beautiful, and her voice was smooth and powerful. She owns the stage without taking anything from the other members. John Mcvie was simply awesome. His bass danced through each track with grace and punch combined. A true legend. As for Mick, what a performance! Loved the drum solo, he got the audience involved and looked in his element. The additional artists, singers and crew were amazing. The new version of Go Insane was excellent and to hear Storms live was wonderful. Sorry for the long comment, but a great memory deserves a few lines. The Mac is most definitely back.
NIA 3/11
This was a special treat and the first time I've seen them live. Not disappointed. Absolutely awesome! I have been a fan since the early Peter Green days and through all the incarnations of the band. I was somewhat concerned when I recognised the intro to "oh Well" - surely Lindsey wasn't going to emulate Peter Green. No worries though - a super arrangement of one of the classics. If the hinted at new album is made please include Oh Well as it squares the circle so to speak. A great night with my heroes surpassing my expectations. It was great to hear ther throbbing pulse of the great John Mc. Thanks guys, come back soon.
Sheffield Arena 2/11/09
FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This was the third time I have seen this truly great band perform live and each time they have been great. However, the Sheffield performance was something else. It's 3 days later and I still have goose bumps.
birmingham nia 3/11
This was the second time i have seen them and they were amazing the best band i have ever seen.
I went along with my mum my baby bump and two friends everyone loved it and thought each song was amazing!
im still shocked at the effort lyndsay buckingham put in and i know i would be dead on my feet if it was me doing what he did.
Worth every penny, lots of fun.
Although we could not help to notice the on stage chemistry between buckingham and nicks was electrifiying and we wondered if there is more relationship drama between these two to come!
Sheffield Arena
I have seen lots of concerts over many years but this was without doubt the best i have ever seen. Absolutely brilliant no other words for it. That performance will stay with me for a long long time. Thanks so much.
Sheffield Arena 2/11/09
Thank you Lindsey,Stevie,Mick and John for a fabulous show the other night....brilliant!!!! Also thank you to the great musicians and singers that complete the band. You guys are still amazing and still sounding and playing as well as you ever have done. Been a big fan all my life pretty much, so to see it all live was a great moment. Went to the Birmingham "say you will tour" show in 2003 and i said that night it was the best concert i have been too.....the Sheffield one was equally amazing!!! Can't wait for you to tour the UK again....make it soon though!!!!! It was great to hear some of the less well known songs, and was especially happy to hear "gold dust woman" this time around as it's my favourite Fleetwood Mac song and it wasn't on the set at Birmingham.
Unbelievable concert.....come back to the UK soon!!!!!!
NIA BRUM 3/11
I went to the NIA gig last night along with my wife Barbara & Daughter Kirsten, trying to get to a venue in Birmingham City Centre at rush hour is not ideal but I guess that is the same for everyone everywhere.
It was our 1st visit to the arena, and we were impressed , although our seats were poor for 60 quid ; especially as I booked them on sale day but rubbish selection is my fault !
The gig was great and pretty much a full house and everyone was on fine form with a lot of banter from both Stevie & Lindsey on stage.
I would like to give special credit to Mick though, his drumming throughout was superb and the drum solo (without the “musical waistcoat” !!) was a highlight of the show. (and you cannot say that very often about drum solo’s !!).
Also, I think just having the 3 girls; Brett & Neale as the only extra musicians on stage really added to the dynamic of the live band and made them a really tight unit.
We were sitting by a few of the “Prawn Sandwich” & too posh to clap brigade who seemed determined to NOT enjoy themselves !! and on the way out there were a few grumbles from the uninformed about it being too loud but overall a truly memorable night……..just looking forward to seeing the comments from the Aussies & Kiwi’s now !!
Enjoy !!
sheffield arena
what a fantastic night been a fan since i was 11 when rumours was released, both me and my partner thought it was the best gig we have seen in the last 15 years she was blown away by stevie nicks,it was the fist time she had seen them live but the 3rd for me,all the band were spot on it does not get better than this ,great set list, great performance what more can you want ,cannot wait for them to return to sheffield as its a great stadium great atmosphere ,great band my daughter is only 2 but allready rocks to fleetwood mac ,another generation of fans to come ,keep it going
Sheffield Arena 2nd Nov 2009 - FANTASTIC!!
What a brilliant night!!! I was sat 20 rows from the front. 100% spot on!!! Re: Shanny's comment about the drum and guitar solos is totally missing the point!! Lynsdey's guitar solo was truly amazing as was Mick's drumming - these 'whipped the audience up into a frenzy' and were one of the highlights of the evening! Maybe Shanny just wanted to sit quitely in his seat?? As most did for almost the first hour. I couldn't wait to stand up and boogie! I wish I was at the front as those lucky people got to stand up right from the start!! Outdoor venues are much better as everyone stands up from the word go! This creates a much better vibe. By the end of the evening absolutely everyone was up on their feet! Some sad people left before the end so they could get their cars out of the car park. We only had to wait 10 mins to get out. Can't wait to see them again on the next tour! Rock On Gold Dust Woman (and men)! Fleetwood Mac we love you!!!!
Sheffiled Arena 2nd Nov 2009
Firstly may I say that the bits that were brilliant were brilliant. Which was about 85% the other was boring. Long self indulgent repetetive guitar lead and Micks drum solo was so unecessary. YOu need to drop those.
A pissed up woman in front of us started arguing and fighting with another woman who was obviously distressed, numerous reports to Arena staff saw them do nothing. Black mark for you Sheffiled Arena!
Thoroughly enjoyed myself though , first rate. Mind you you should be after all this time. I thought we were starting at 8pm it was nearly half hour late.
Come To Adelaide
Hey Mac Come to Adelaide, You Will Love It And So Will We Maybe a Winery Show Like The One In Newcastle ????
sheffield arena 2nd november 2009
Guys you were rocking last night. Stevie you are one helluva singer, love all your songs. Take my hat off to Lyndsey Buckingham, how he kept going for 2hrs and 20 mins without a break at his age is beyond belief. A good night was had by my partner and i, keep up the good work and rock the world.

WEMBLEY ARENA SATURDAY 31/10/2009
WHAT CAN I SAY ABOUT FLEETWOOD MAC !!!
THEY ARE AN AMAZING GROUP OF ARTISTS, MY BELOVED STEVIE NICKS AS GORGEOUS AS EVER STILL HAS AN ENCHANTING VOICE, IN LINDSEY BUCKINGHAM A GUITAR PLAYER UP THERE WITH THE VERY BEST, JOHN McVIE AS GOOD A BASS PLAYER YOU COULD WISH FOR KEEPING TIME WITH MICK SO WELL, AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST THE ONE AND ONLY MICK FLEETWOOD A LEGEND IN HIS OWN RIGHT I ONLY WISH I COULD PLAY THOSE DRUMS WITH THE LOVE AND PASSION THAT STILL DRIVES HIM ON.
A TRULY FANTASTIC NIGHT LOVED BY EVERY BODY WHO WAS THERE, AND A SUPERB VERSION OF "GO YOUR OWN WAY" NOT TO BE MISSED, THE SHOW JUST SHORT OF 3 HOURS LONG WITH NO SUPPORT OR BREAKS THANKYOU FLEETWOOD MAC FOR GREAT NIGHT
COME BACK SOON
Sheffield Arena
Oh My God, It was better than I expected, Just amazing. We had front row tickets and worth every penny of the £75.
Stevie was Fantastic and I spent a good deal of my time with tears in my eyes, especially during Landslide and Gold Dust Woman, just wish she could have done Silver Springs aswell.
Lyndsey's guitar playing is second to none and he must be one of the World's most underated guitar players.
Mick, well what can you say, a legend in his own time.
John, he's there, he's quiet, but without him it wouldn't be the Mac.
Just a shame Christine couldn't complete the line-up.
I just hope they return next year, never thought we'd ever see them, this is truly a dream come true.
Sheffield gig November 2nd 2009
Hi there
Was at the Sheffield Arena gig last night with my sister and was blown away by your performance. I have been a fan since forever but this was my first time seeing you live and it was worth the wait! Absolutely amazing. I hope it's not the last tour - come back again soon whether it's just to have a good time singing old favourites or promoting a new album (would be great!) Keep it going guys. Love you. xx
Sheffield Arena, UK. 2nd Nov '09

Last night's gig at Wembly Arena 31/10/09
Fantastic!
This was my first time to see Fleetwood Mac live and it was amazing. I had so wanted to see them live and always wondered if I would get the opportunity. Thank you so much Fleetwood Mac for going back on the road and giving us the chance to enjoy your wonderful music in person - it was a truly awesome gig!
OUT OF THIS WORLD
My darling husband took me to see the concert 30/10/09 for our 26th wedding anniversary and we were both blown away by the entire magical performances. The evening was a totally out of this world. Rock on forever.....
Amazing
Hi Guys. took the wife to the Friday gig at Wembley as a supprise. We were both blown away. Great music that stands the span of time and feels like something born again. You guys rock!. you can come and play with us any time. Paul/ Blowngasket(blowngasket.co.uk).

Dublin, Sunday night
I gave my daughter a ticket for her 18th birthday and we went to the Sunday night concert. It was amazing; we were both blown away. The sound, the performance and the atmosphere were fantastic and I am delighted that we experienced true pros at work. She now has something with which to measure other performers - Fleetwood Mac live are hard to beat.
Dublin Ireland
Just been to the concert on Sunday night and what a concert it was. What a stage show and the music is as good as ever. I would say having been to many concerts this is up there with the best of them. Just blew me away. Thanks guys and come back soon.

SECC 22nd Oct 2009
We came with four friends to this fantastic concert. We were almost literally blown away by this living legend. It turned out to be a double celebration, my birthday was the day before, and on our return home from Glasgow we heard the news that our new grandson had arrived just a few hours previously while we were still rocking! So a memorable night in more ways than one.
glasgow secc october 22 2009
first time seeing the band after listening for nearly thirty years . wow what a stonking rocking rolling night thank you thank you thank you !!!!!
Paris Le Zenith, 17/10/2009
PLEASE, COME TO SPAIN, AT LEAST ONE DATE, WE LOVE YOU!!!!
Glasgow SECC 22 October 2009
Superb. First time I have managed to see them live and it was an outstanding concert.
Many thanks to the band for an unforgettable evening, especially Mick's drum solo near then end!!
Berlin Performance 19-10-09
Thank you so much for the great performance you gave last monday in the O2 centre in Berlin. Though we all know this place has the worst accoustic of all places in Berlin you did formerly rock of the roof. We all had a great time in a super atmosfere. But most of all I really felt was the true love you have put in your life-work and in the people joining this magnificent show. So being in a good energy and in the heart i make a small bow and say; Thank you so much!
The Show in Berlin, O2-World, October 19, 2009
Thank you for the great show yesterday night in the O2-World in Berlin! The 4 of you seem to be stronger than ever, we enjoyed every minute and every song. Besides being awesome musicians you created a very personal atmosphere – thanks for your loving attitude towards us, the audience. Lindsey mentioned the possibility of a new album… we look forward to it! Thanks again, you’re one in a million.
Berlin Gig 19 Oct 09
Great gig tonight. So much heart...so much soul. Moving stuff. The band had a great time, and it rubbed off on a usually hard to impress Berlin audience. They took the roof off. Stevie is such a Goddess, and Lindsey...so talented. Mick and John as steady as ever. Moving stuff. Brilliant - the way a gig should be ! Thanks guys !
Ahoy Rotterdam
