Landslide

Who knew that a song written nearly 12 years before I was born could not only describe my life, but help me cope?
After surviving 15 years of child abuse and completing a book to help others, I was once again thrown into the past as my mother's protector.
On Saturday, my mother decided to end her life by ingesting over 128 different medications. She fell in seizers and hit her head and eventually fell into a coma. As the ambulance carried my mother’s unconscious body to the hospital, I had to turn to my counselor for strength: MUSIC.
“Landslide” and “Touched By An Angel” were the two songs that kept me from going a little mad and gave me the courage I needed to be the strong one, so again my mother is alive, because of my strong will and Stevie Nicks’s angelic words.

I haven't been on the site in a while and I must say, once again, that reading your blogs and experiencing your never ending strength just amazes me...I honestly get chills when I read of your trials and still...you come out fighting. I feel like sometimes, my hardships are the worst that anyone can endear and then, I read something like this...I am forever englightened by your courage and perserverence...you are an AMAZING woman...don't EVER let ANYONE tell you differently. Thank you again...YOU ~~~ for giving ME the strength to go on...you are forever in my prayers. Please take care and be well.

Thank you all for the encouragement and for taking the time to read what I have to say. It really means a great deal to me that I can be an inspiration to others like Stevie has been to be.
At the moment my book is still in the editing/publishing process, and it is estimated to be available by the end of the year. It will be sold in over 22,000 book stores nationwide including Barnes and Noble and Books A Million. In addition, it will be able to be purchased online at my publisher's website, my upcoming book website, and Amazon.
However, in the meantime, I have a MySpace page(http://www.myspace.com/chanelmcheramie) dedicated to my “Breaking the Silence of Child Abuse” cause, and I hope that each of you that are inspired by my story keep in contact with me and help me get the word out on Child Abuse.
As for getting in touch with Stevie, I did speak with her manager in December of 2008 and let her know that I am publishing a book in which I discuss Stevie's inspirational effects on my life, and she was very helpful and extremely nice and told me that I was free to write what I wanted. However, due to her busy schedule I was unable to tell her what the book was about or that I am dedicating the book to my eight guardian angels, and Stevie is one of them. However, I do get a select number of free books, and I plan to send one to Stevie’s manager in hopes that Stevie will receive it. It is my dream to be able to thank each and every person in my dedication. Therefore, I hope that Stevie will get my book and find it in her heart to one day contact me.

I hope you will one day be able to meet Stevie.I know it has always been my dream.But a dream I feel I will never achieve.
I wish you much luck with your book.Your so talented.I really believe your the voice of many angels.Your story is going to help so many people.

On the subject of Child Abuse, happily, never having been a victum myself, I work with a guy who is on the board of BACA {Bickers Against Child Abuse} and I have recently joined their cause - they are forever having fund raisers and events that enable children who feel that they have no where to turn, that there is hope. All the money goes to organizations and affiliations that enable the continued fight against this dreaded injustice towards children who, basically, do not have the resources to fight back on their own. It would be an honor to read your book and although I am not one of the millions of Americans who embrace MySpace or FaceBook, this site has given me the outlet to discuss many things about myself with people who I hold a lot in common with; if only to be a Fleetwood Mac/Stevie Nicks Fan like myself, but I am discovering that there are many more things I have in common with other members and, truthfully, it's mind boggling. Again, thanks for your inspiring story and for being my friend. I look forward to future correspondence with you and as always, Take care and God Bless.

Oh, Chanel, I cannot tell you how sad it makes me that you are still enduring such pain. But, as I told you before, you are a very strong individual and even Wyndem agrees, you are such an inspiration. I too would like to know where I could get a copy of your book. All I can say, is keep the faith - your strength will get you through this.

I am so sorry to read about your mom.Keep the faith girl I know this is all happening for a reason or special purpose.You are such a inspiration to me and soon to others.You will have to tell me where to get your book and then maybe you can sign it for me.
Maybe your publisher can get in touch with Stevie I'm sure she would be honored to hear how she's touched your life.Keep the faith wendym
